About Mamie
From an early age, I developed a love for helping others and knew I wanted my career to reflect that passion. Counseling affords me the opportunity to empathize with my clients in a genuine and sincere way, while providing them the tools and techniques to help them overcome whatever obstacle they are facing.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Louisiana. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Northwestern State University, a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling and Guidance from Louisiana Tech University, and a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University Shreveport.
I have 9 years of clinical experience working with clients of all ages. I provide counseling to children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing trauma, grief, loss, depression, anxiety, and those seeking better ways to handle life’s challenges. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). I believe it takes strength and courage for an individual to confide in someone about the most vulnerable parts of their lives, and it is a privilege for me to create a safe therapeutic environment for my clients.
