Child First is an intensive, early childhood, home-based mental health intervention that works with young children (birth – 6 years) and their families to build strong, nurturing relationships that heal and protect them from trauma and adversity.
Child First works to identify children and caregivers at the earliest possible time to both prevent and decrease child emotional and behavioral problems, developmental and learning problems, and abuse and neglect, while enhancing caregiver mental health and parenting skills.
Child First is a national, evidence-based, two-generational model with an average duration of 6-12 months, dependent on family challenges.
