Volunteers of America South Central Louisiana provides support services to low-income women and men over the age of 18 who are living with HIV/AIDS in Ascension, East and West Baton Rouge, East and West Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston and Pointe Coupee parishes. We assist approximately 400 HIV positive individuals with case management services and 32 clients and their families through our housing programs.
Ryan White Part A Case Management
The HIV/AIDS Services program brings hope to individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Through case management programs such as Ryan White, individuals living in Region II receive care coordination, housing, utility, food, and transportation assistance.
The Peer Advocates meet with clients to foster a relationship and help the clients cope with their diagnosis. Clients are linked to medical care and medical case management. The Advocates provide the clients with information on living with HIV disease, discuss the benefits of entering and remaining in care, provide guidance on how to navigate the system of care and how to obtain needed services.
Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) Program
Provides nonmedical case management, emergency financial assistance and housing assistance. Services are provided to individuals living with HIV/AIDS who are enrolled in our HOPWA housing program and individuals and families at risk for losing housing identified through community referrals. Through this program individuals receive rental and utility assistance, food vouchers, application fees and security deposits and client centered support services.
